Phanos Kyriakou
Biography

 

Phanos Kyriakou graduated from Middlesex School of Fine Art. In 2007 he received his Master of Arts at Goldsmiths University in London, and he has been living and working in Cyprus since. He opened the Midget Factory in 2006, which is in operation until today. The Midget Factory is a space in the old part of Nicosia, in which he exhibits projects that create a dialogue between the works of art and the urban surroundings. He has had several solo shows, including "Over the Hills" (2009), "The New Man Has Arrived" (2008), "Never Trust a Monster" (2007), and "Beware of the Sniper" (2006). Kyriakou has taken part in a number of group exhibitions, including the show "Synergy" which was held in collaboration with Angelos Makrides at the Archaeological Museum (2009) and was curated by Yiannis Toumazis, the exhibition titled "Waiting to Hear From You" which was curated by Andrie Michael at Action Field Kodra in Thessaloniki (2008), and the exhibition "Destruction and Oblivion" which was curated by Andre Zivanari at Nicosia Municipal Arts Centre, in cooperation with the Pierides Museum of Contemporary Art.
