The new European Parliament will convene in Strasbourg for its first plenary on July 2 to 4, with highlights including the election of an EP president and a debate on the recent EU summits.
 
After the constitution of the new Parliament on Tuesday, July 2 at 10.00, in the morning of Wednesday, MEPs will elect their President for the next two-and-a-half years.
 
MEPs are also expected elect the 14 Vice-Presidents on same day and the five Quaestors the following day.
 
Parliament will vote on the numerical composition of its standing and sub-committees on Wednesday. Nominations will be announced in plenary later the same day.
 
And on Thursday will debate the results of the June  20/21 and 30 summits with European Council President Donald Tusk and Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.
