As part of the ilife-Troodos project, the first of the two information points was built at the Platania picnic site. The second information point will soon be completed in Troodos square.

The info point has a  panel with photos and texts as well as a large touch screen with information about the Troodos National Forest, for example, roads, and parks, nature study paths, restaurants, churches etc.

The info site is open round the clock and there is access also to people in wheelchairs.

The ilife-Troodos software is available for free and can be installed on mobile phones or other devices.

The ‘Troodos National Forest Park (iLIFE-TROODOS)’ App has been created within the framework of the project ‘Troodos National Forest Park: Promoting natural values and Ecosystem Services’ (LIFE16 GIE/CY/000709), which is co-funded by the LIFE programme of the European Union.

The App aims to provide information to the visitors of the Troodos National Forest Park about the natural values of the Park and the ecosystem services it provides. It seeks to become the ultimate tool for the visitors, providing information regarding the biodiversity of the area and the available opportunities for recreation, such as  Camping and picnic sites,

– Nature trails,
– Cycling routes,
– Accommodation,
– Restaurants,
– Museums,
– Churches,
– Waterfalls,
– Environmental centers, etc.

Moreover, the app includes weather information, calorie counter and many other capabilities. All points of interest are geotagged and provide the option to navigate via Google maps to the selected point.
