The new DARE (Day One Alliance for Employment) programme aimed at unemployed youths aged 15 and over will take place over the next three years, aiming to give jobless young people – irrespective of their qualifications and knowledge – basic training to acquire expertise, skills and some experience so that they can find employment.

In an interview with Philenews, the head of the programme Anna Dalosi said DARE aspires to create a system of ‘unofficial’ learning. Experience from EU countries has shown that such initiatives increase the  chances of young people finding a job, including young people who have become discouraged and have stopped looking for work and women looking after children or adults.

The programme receives a subsidy in excess of €1m as the youth employment fund supports the sustainable employment of all young people in the EU.
